I’ve been working with VirtueMart 1.05 for a while and there’s one specific feature of FF that really annoys me. Copy and Paste results in a “Unprevileged script” error. I’ve made a quick video of my screenshot so you can see what I mean … This is really annoying.

More details of this are here at http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/securityprefs.html. This is just crap, Mozilla! Why do you make me to switch to IE? I hate this. But the rich-text editor for my WP is still working just fine. Meanwhile, at http://neosmart.net/blog/archives/181, it was said that the copy&paste bug had been fixed in 1.5.0.4. What’s going on then?

I think the whole under/unpriviliges crap just stupid. Firfox, -1 for you.

just use the JCE editor, you won’t get those errors and it’s better.

If memory serves, that error was built into the HTMLarea editor by it’s author. As a result you can hack the source and remove it.

Travis, I’m not big on using WYSIWYG editor, it’s just more convenient but the code generation is terrible. As the HTMLArea text-area has been customized for VirtueMart, I know people will run into this copy&paste problem with Firefox and it’s such a nuisance. Since posting this, I switched to TinyMCE and everything’s fine. :)

Stuart, can you be alittle more specific about the hack? I think people may benefit if we can provide a way to solve this problem.

Maybe you’ve heard of this one… sorry if I’m repeating someone else….

Shift+Insert instead of Control+V

Been using it for a year after the same problem. Someone smarter than I in the infinite forums I’ve read put me on it. Try it out.

Yeah Steve, I knew about the Shift Insert keys combo but just never got to use it. I’ll give it a shot:) Thanks for sharing though!
